About the position

The Senior Manager of Accounting Advisory will play a pivotal role in advising financial services and banking clients on various projects, including IPO preparation, transaction support, and audit readiness. This position requires a blend of technical accounting expertise and leadership skills to manage client relationships and mentor junior staff while contributing to the growth of the firm's service offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Advise financial services and banking clients on projects including IPO preparation, transaction support, carve-outs, and audit readiness.
  • Engage with clients on technical accounting and control-related issues, providing research guidance and recommendations.
  • Create and deliver presentations on technical concepts and project work plans to client stakeholders.
  • Review team progress to ensure compliance with work programs and professional standards.
  • Educate internal and external audiences on accounting best practices.
  • Identify, design, and implement creative business solutions to improve the firm's methodology.
  • Establish credibility as a trusted advisor.
  • Serve as a member of the leadership team, contributing to business growth and developing new service offerings.
  • Manage client relationships to identify and close new business opportunities.
  • Participate in career development activities and technical training of staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 10+ years of professional services experience in public accounting or advisory firm and/or financial reporting experience with a Fortune 500 organization.
  • Deep expertise and relationships within the Financial industry.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading a life insurance accounting function for both U.S. GAAP and U.S. statutory accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of SEC reporting and U.S. GAAP.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting/audit practices, procedures, and reporting standards.
  • Proven track record of achieving business development targets.

Nice-to-haves

  • Masters in Accounting, MBA, CPA, CIA.
  • Knowledge of Tier 1 accounting packages (i.e. Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft).
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and build teams that deliver exceptional services.
  • Previous experience leading and executing complex projects in challenging environments.

  • Competitive salary range between $122,465 and $235,291 based on experience and qualifications.
