About the position

The Senior Manager, Accounting will oversee and manage all accounting matters in the US, including the month-end accounting close and reporting process, internal and external audit coordination, and compliance with local and statutory reporting requirements. This role is crucial for establishing consistency in the accounting close cycle and enhancing accounting policies and best practices. The Senior Manager is expected to lead a high-performance team, implement process improvements, and foster collaborative relationships across various functions to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the monthly US GAAP financial close process through direct management and indirect influence of teams.
  • Review and approve journal entries, variance analysis, and account reconciliations to ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal policies.
  • Monitor and maintain the SOX control structure and coordinate with internal and external audit for timely completion of audit work.
  • Collaborate with business and functional leaders to drive operational excellence and robust controls for a high-quality close.
  • Build and develop a high-performance team and continuously improve business processes to drive scalability in a high-growth environment.
  • Analyze KPI and productivity close metrics to optimize operational results over time.
  • Utilize technology, automation, and RPA tools to improve processes and gain scalability across the global closing and reporting cycle.
  • Assist in special projects such as M&A integration, ERP upgrades, and implementation of new accounting and reporting standards.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting or finance.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Experience in Big 4 and industry managing global consolidations and financial systems in complex, multi-national publicly-traded companies.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and reporting tools (D365, HFM, OneStream, Microsoft Office, and Power Platform).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in implementing various analytical techniques for the close cycle.
  • Experience in managing a team and strong business acumen with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and experience with M&A integration.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
