About the position

The Senior Manager will support the Americas Controllership team with a focus on monthly close, intercompany, acquisition support, and system support. This role will participate in the month-end close process for Publicis Sapient North America, working with the team to ensure timely completion of related tasks. The individual will possess strong accounting and analytical experience, as well as being able to manage change in a fast-paced environment. This is a hands-on role where the individual will be able to dig into the details as well as see ahead and manage to long-term goals. Key responsibilities include participating in the monthly close with a focus on compliance with Groupe policies and procedures, coordinating with various Shared Services teams to ensure accurate and complete monthly closes, and understanding shared information to ensure costs are recorded properly. The Senior Manager will also conduct variance analysis of actual results ensuring accuracy of accounting, foster a culture of continual process improvement and high-quality deliverables within the team, and work with reporting teams to ensure they are aware of any material accounting issues and changes that may impact Commit and Reforecasts. Additionally, the Senior Manager will assist with ad hoc projects, such as integration support, acquisition support, accounting matters, and supporting subsidiary entities as needed. They will support various internal and external audits and develop and provide direction to direct reports, mentoring and coaching team members to continue to enhance their skills and grow their careers.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the monthly close with focus on compliance with Groupe policies and procedures

  • Conduct variance analysis of actual results ensuring accuracy of accounting
  • Foster a culture of continual process improvement and high-quality deliverables within the team
  • Work with reporting teams to ensure they are aware of any material accounting issues and changes that may impact Commit and Reforecasts
  • Assist with ad hoc projects, such as integration support, acquisition support, accounting matters and supporting subsidiary entities, as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, with emphasis in accounting required
  • A minimum of 10+ years progressive accounting experience within the corporate accounting department of a large organization
  • CPA highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage an accounting team and drive continuous process improvement
  • Ability to analyze large amounts of data, determine root causes of problems, recommend actions, and drive the implementation of those actions independently
  • Excellent communication skills to clearly and accurately convey financial information to internal teams
  • Strong technical accounting skills and experience with independent auditors
  • Experience in a large, complex organization a must
  • Performed consolidation and foreign currency related responsibilities
  • Hyperion Financial Manager and SAP experience preferred
  • Strong Excel skills a must
  • Committed, detail oriented, self-starter with strong problem solving and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently
