The Senior Technology Manager at CarMax plays a crucial role in driving innovation and technology solutions that align with the company's strategic mission. This position involves leading teams to develop and implement application systems and solutions specifically for the CarMax Auctions business, ensuring that technology enhances profitability, efficiency, and the overall associate experience. Responsibilities

• Direct and manage strategic planning, software development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of application systems for CarMax Auctions.
• Develop long and short-term technology solutions to achieve business goals and improve profitability and efficiency.
• Attract, recruit, retain, and coach a strong team of skilled associates aligned with the company's mission.
• Communicate the technology vision to executive management and provide guidance to support strategic direction.
• Stay current with industry trends and formulate technology plans based on business needs.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree in a technology-related field preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in technology, with 5+ years in application systems development and implementation.
• 3+ years of experience managing direct reports.
• 3+ years of experience at a large online company, preferably in e-commerce.
• Experience leading software projects using Agile practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in front-end technologies, platforms, machine learning, information retrieval, and natural language processing.
