About the position

Xenon Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Senior Manager/Associate Director, Supply Chain Planning to oversee the supply chain planning for clinical supplies across various small molecule drug development programs. This role is crucial in supporting Xenon's clinical trials and involves developing and managing comprehensive end-to-end supply chain plans for the company's products. The successful candidate will work closely with the Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) and Supply Chain Management teams, as well as key internal stakeholders including Finance, Clinical Operations, Regulatory Affairs, and Quality Assurance. The position requires a strong understanding of supply chain dynamics, particularly in the pharmaceutical industry, and the ability to manage demand, supply, and inventory plans effectively. The Senior Manager/Associate Director will also be responsible for managing master data, processes, and associated systems, ensuring data accuracy through audits, and implementing data management policies to comply with industry regulations. Additionally, the role involves leading supply chain planning projects, preparing and presenting Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reports, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This hybrid position is based in Boston, MA, requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office. The level of the position will be commensurate with the candidate's education and industry experience, and it reports to the Senior Director, Supply Chain Systems. The role may also involve some international travel, reflecting the global nature of the company's operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end Supply Chain Planning, including Demand, Supply, and Inventory Plans; Master Data, processes, and associated systems; and Management of forecasting and CMO requirements in support of Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
  • Manage Master Data, processes, and associated systems, including the creation, implementation, and maintenance of master data management solutions.
  • Enrich master data elements and optimize the flow of data between users and stakeholders.
  • Ensure data accuracy by conducting audits and identifying trends that may indicate problems with data quality.
  • Design and implement data management policies and procedures to ensure organizational compliance with industry regulations.
  • Lead and manage Supply Chain Planning projects as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Prepare and present Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reports, perform root-cause analysis assessments, and implement continuous improvement actions.
  • Collaborate with Management, the Supply Chain Management team, and other internal teams as needed.
  • Lead the transformation of the Supply Chain Management department in line with business demands.
  • Develop the skills and capabilities of Supply Chain Management best practices across the team.
  • Act in accordance with Company policies and ensure compliance among direct reports.

Requirements

  • A university degree in health sciences, life sciences, or physical sciences (or equivalent).
  • 7+ years' experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry.
  • Deep knowledge of pharmaceutical Supply Chain Planning and Master Data as they pertain to people, process, and technology needs.
  • Thorough knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and International Conference on Harmonization (ICH) Guidelines.
  • Experience with Master Data and ERP systems, as well as planning applications (design, implementation, and user acceptance testing).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications, electronic data capture systems, and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate with both scientific and non-scientific personnel.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing accurate, high-quality work.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills to work independently and collaboratively.
