About the position

The Senior Manager, Automation Engineering at Walmart will lead the Store Automation team in developing innovative technologies to enhance the customer shopping experience. This role involves strategic planning, project management, and continuous improvement of hardware systems, with a focus on integrating advanced technologies such as AI and machine learning. The position is critical in transforming retail operations and requires a visionary mindset to drive impactful changes across the network.

Responsibilities

• Combine technologies like image-based modeling, AI, and machine learning to optimize customer experience.
• Identify, scope, and develop plans for new capabilities across the network.
• Interpret information to measure outcomes of supply chain decisions and manage supplier tasks.
• Lead the design and integration of new store hardware systems.
• Manage key development projects through the stage-gate process, including risk assessment and communication planning.
• Develop methods for system improvements and establish process controls.
• Advise on financial tools and build business cases for projects.
• Benchmark industry best practices and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 4 years' experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area, or 6 years' experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area.
• 2 years' supervisory experience.
