About the position

The Senior Manager of Brewery is responsible for the active management of the Brewing Department, ensuring the completion of tasks that are integral to the overall performance of the Brewery. This role involves providing leadership and development to autonomous work groups while continuously improving the core operations of brewing and blending. The Senior Manager will monitor the overall brewing process, enforce quality and safety standards, conduct root cause analysis, and manage key performance indicators (KPIs). Additionally, this position will assist in the budgeting process to meet profit and loss (P&L) targets and align with the overall capital strategy of the brewery. In this role, the Senior Manager will lead, coach, and mentor a team of Supervisors, Lead Brewers, and Brewers across multiple shifts. The focus will be on providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance, engagement, and collaboration within the team. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for ensuring the highest compliance with safety and quality standards, driving departmental improvements in fermentation, blending, inventory accuracy, sensory evaluation, and overall quality. Furthermore, the Senior Manager will translate the long-term manufacturing vision into actionable short and mid-term plans for the department, aligning with key metrics and financial targets such as safety, quality, production, and financial performance. The role requires building critical relationships with local operations, people partners, supply chain, quality, environmental health and safety (EHSS), and maintenance teams, as well as corporate tech services and quality departments. The Senior Manager will own the brewing operations, including strategic planning and development for production attainment and improvement, while influencing departmental safety, quality, and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Supervisors, Lead Brewers, and Brewers on multiple shifts.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Drive improvements in fermentation, blending, inventory accuracy, sensory evaluation, and quality.
  • Translate long-term manufacturing vision into short and mid-term plans for the department.
  • Monitor brewing operations and enforce quality and safety standards.
  • Assist in the budgeting process to meet P&L targets and overall capital strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., chemistry, chemical engineering, biology, food science).
  • 5+ years of management experience in a manufacturing environment; brewing and filtration experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience in brewing, liquid blending, or other high-speed food/beverage manufacturing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, GMP principles, and Lean Six Sigma methodology is strongly preferred.
