About the position

The Senior Manager, Sales Strategy & Enablement at Walmart Connect is a pivotal role that focuses on enhancing the connection between supplier brands and retail shoppers through digital advertising and e-commerce. This position is part of a small, high-visibility team within Walmart, the world's largest retailer, and is responsible for driving proactive account management, insights, and support for Walmart Connect's Agency, Media, and Channel partners. The ideal candidate will possess a strong executive presence and the ability to cultivate essential stakeholder relationships across Sales, Operations, and leadership teams. In this role, you will support the Partnership team in various areas, including measurement, performance, best operational practices, API support, and research opportunities. You will collaborate with business stakeholders to gain consensus, document processes, create a central framework, and facilitate workflow and change management. The position requires expertise in key sales support activities such as revenue routing, segmentation design, quota setting, opportunity pipeline management, annual account planning, goal setting, and organizational planning. Your responsibilities will include business measurement and reporting, where you will collaborate with leaders to design and document resource planning processes necessary for scaling the partnership business. You will lead the collection of third-party and internal data, ensuring data quality to identify appropriate measurements and KPIs for defining success metrics in Partnership engagement. Additionally, you will monitor and analyze key performance metrics, construct and maintain core reports, and partner with leadership to ensure data accuracy. Strategy planning is another key component of this role, where you will develop metrics to evaluate progress and leverage data extraction skills to create reporting deliverables. You will address ambiguous strategic questions, collaborate with leaders to build business cases for new initiatives, and ensure smooth execution across cross-functional partners. Special projects and in-depth analysis will also be part of your responsibilities, acting as the primary point of contact for Partnership Team Leads and supporting decision-making through data-driven insights.

Responsibilities

  • Drive proactive account management, insights, and support for Walmart Connect's Agency, Media, and Channel partners.
  • Collaborate with leaders in the Partnership team to design, develop, and document the resource planning process necessary to scale and expand the partnership business.
  • Lead the process of collecting third-party and internal data, ensuring data quality to identify appropriate measurements and KPIs for defining success metrics in Partnership engagement.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance metrics within reporting tools for teams and partners, including pipeline growth and engagement activities.
  • Construct and maintain core reports and tools that support changes being implemented in Salesforce, such as meetings being logged and opportunity pipeline.
  • Partner with Partnership leadership and stakeholders to ensure the highest data accuracy and precision in pipeline and activity data.
  • Collaborate with engineers to generate necessary data when it is unavailable.
  • Present critical data in a format immediately useful for addressing questions about Sales Leadership team inputs and outputs.
  • Manage tools and reports to facilitate teams' understanding of business health and goal achievement levels.
  • Develop various input and output metrics to evaluate progress, serving as the backbone of WBR/MBR reporting process.
  • Leverage strong data extraction skills to develop reporting deliverables and create ad hoc analyses on business results and sales performance.
  • Address ambiguous strategic questions and collaborate with leaders to build business cases for new business initiatives.
  • Develop a profound understanding of the overall business and how different ads products, media channels, and sales investments align with broader strategy.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for Partnership Team Leads, offering insights into metric movements and trends.
  • Support decision-making by specifying requirements for developing analytic capabilities, platforms, pipelines, and metrics.
  • Lead and conduct ad hoc analyses, ranging from creating new metrics to identifying root causes of revenue fluctuations.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of work experience in a role requiring analytical skills, such as business analyst, data analyst, or statistical analyst.
  • Profound experience in sales processes and tools, including Salesforce CRM systems, sales quota and territory assignment, and analytics.
  • Proficiency in writing complex and efficient SQL queries to extract data.
  • Ability to work with internal and external customers to gather and document business requirements and user stories.
  • Competence in managing core Sales Operations processes, such as Account Planning, Quota Development, and Sales Performance Management.
  • Ability to partner with core internal technical teams (CRM, Data Warehouse, etc.) to design and implement sales operations solutions.
  • Proficiency in analyzing sales processes and mechanisms for sub-optimal performance, with an emphasis on defect reduction and productivity improvement.
  • Ability to communicate findings and make recommendations for improvement clearly and effectively.
  • Capacity to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize responsibilities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree (MBA, Business, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field).
  • Advanced knowledge of data mining and experience with SQL, data warehousing, statistical analysis tools, Microsoft Excel, and data visualization tools like Tableau.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including prioritization, scheduling, time management, and meeting deadlines.
  • Exposure to and understanding of digital advertising.
  • Experience working closely with a distributed sales team.
