About the position

The Senior Manager of Business and Administrative Operations at the American Dental Association (ADA) plays a crucial role in leading the operational functions of the Center of Excellence, Dental Care & Financing. This position involves developing operational plans, collaborating with cross-divisional leaders, and managing projects that align with the ADA's strategic initiatives. The Senior Manager will also support policy development for the House of Delegates and ensure effective communication with executive-level staff.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as lead staff in the business and operational functions of the Center of Excellence, Dental Care & Financing.
  • Assist in the management of the Center of Excellence (CoE).
  • Collaborate with cross-divisional business leaders to facilitate change and identify appropriate business solutions.
  • Achieve strategic initiatives and deliver results supporting the CoE and association goals.
  • Work with four ADA Councils to transmit reports to the Board and House of Delegates.
  • Lead one reference committee supporting policy development for the House of Delegates.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree or 12 years minimum experience in lieu of degree.
  • A minimum of 8 years experience working with executive level staff or 12 years in lieu of degree.
  • Experience with budget and operations management.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Independent decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent written, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of cross-divisional project management with high priority objectives and goals.
  • Ability to lead cross-divisional teams on projects independently.
  • Maintain confidentiality of staff and division-wide matters.
  • Make informed decisions based on analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SharePoint, and Fonteva.
