About the position

The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence & Reporting at TD Bank is a pivotal role that leads a specialized team responsible for reporting and business intelligence (BI) within the Business Resilience Reporting (BRIM) function. This position is crucial for the creation of new reports and data extracts that support key business functions. The Senior Manager will contribute to the design and direction of strategic BI projects and initiatives, ensuring that all critical data and reporting elements are included to meet business needs effectively. In this role, the Senior Manager will provide leadership in people management by hiring top talent, setting clear goals, developing staff, and managing employee performance. The position oversees a large and complex reporting function that operates in an area of significant risk and complexity. As a strategic partner to the leadership team, the Senior Manager will manage the portfolio and financials, leveraging deep industry knowledge to recognize emerging trends and identify operational efficiencies. The Senior Manager will facilitate key strategic discussions, providing thought leadership to an executive audience, which may include developing strategic roadmaps and deliverables. The focus will be on long-range planning for the functional area, typically looking at a horizon of 12 months or more. This role requires a strong understanding of data analysis and visualization, as well as the ability to liaise effectively with business stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate project deliveries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a specialized team responsible for reporting and business intelligence for key business functions.
  • Contribute to the design and direction of strategic BI projects and initiatives.
  • Provide people management leadership, including hiring, goal setting, and performance management.
  • Oversee a large and complex reporting function, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the leadership team on portfolio and financial management.
  • Facilitate strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audiences.
  • Set operational team direction and collaborate with others to achieve common goals.
  • Focus on long-range planning for the functional area, typically 12 months or more.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure proactive communication regarding projects and data requests.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and implement process enhancements.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in business intelligence and reporting.
  • Experience in financial services or banking is preferred.
  • Experience in a regulated industry and working in a risk function is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with vendor management and business continuity management is preferred.
  • Experience using Archer and/or Service Now is a plus.
