About the position

The Senior Manager, Business Intelligence & Reporting leads a specialized team of professionals responsible for reporting and/or Business Intelligence (BI) for a key business function. This role is crucial in the creation of new reports and data extracts, contributing to the design and direction of key strategic BI-related projects and initiatives. The Senior Manager ensures that critical data and reporting elements are included and that all business needs are met. In this position, the Senior Manager provides people management leadership by hiring top talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance, and making compensation decisions. They oversee a large and complex reporting function that is significant in risk, complexity, or scope. As a strategic partner to the leadership team, the Senior Manager manages the portfolio and financials, leveraging deep industry knowledge to recognize and anticipate emerging trends while identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities across business management and enterprise areas. The role also involves facilitating key strategic discussions and providing thought leadership to an executive audience, which may include creating strategic roadmaps and deliverables. The Senior Manager sets operational team direction and collaborates with others to execute common goals, focusing on longer-range planning for the functional area, typically looking 12 months or more into the future.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a specialized team of data/reporting analysts or specialists.
  • Oversee and lead a complex reporting function for an area of significant risk or complexity.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the leadership team on portfolio and financial management.
  • Facilitate strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audiences.
  • Set operational team direction and collaborate with others to achieve common goals.
  • Manage the request pipeline to ensure timely and accurate project deliveries.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered according to department standards and guidelines.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement and implement process enhancements.
  • Coach and support direct reports in achieving their objectives and delivering business results.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders to ensure proactive communication regarding projects and data requests.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or technical certificate.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence and Reporting.
  • Experience in financial services or banking is preferred.
  • Experience in a regulated industry and working in a risk function is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with vendor management and business continuity management is beneficial.
  • Experience using Archer and/or Service Now is preferred.
