About the position

The Senior Manager, Business Operations in Oncology at Takeda will oversee the Oncology Therapeutic Area Unit (OTAU) with comprehensive management of HCP contracts, sponsorship agreements, and external research requests. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and compliant operation of the OTAU HCP contracts ecosystem, while also mentoring junior staff and collaborating with various internal teams to enhance contracting processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the OTAU on all HCP-related workstreams and committees, ensuring effective contract management.
  • Track and report on contracting completion metrics, addressing gaps or delays promptly.
  • Train and mentor junior members of the OTAU Business Operations team.
  • Collaborate with clinical scientists to identify valuable HCP partnerships.
  • Advise internal OTAU contract requestors on contracting elements, including Fair Market Rate.
  • Develop resources to facilitate the OTAU contracting process, such as instructions and FAQs.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders on contracting processes.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key business partners, including Legal and Compliance teams.
  • Oversee execution of HCP and HCO contracts for OTAU.
  • Facilitate compliance with HCP & HCO-related requests through internal systems.
  • Manage sponsorship requests, ensuring compliance and proper documentation.
  • Assist with preclinical oncology research contracts from external parties.
  • Lead teams for change initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain contract tracking systems tailored to OTAU stakeholders' needs.
  • Support DMCs by addressing conflicts of interest and handling contract requests.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience or equivalent training and experience.
  • Strong PC literacy with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
