About the position

The Senior Manager - Cloud Operations will lead a geographically diverse cloud automation and engineering team within Eaton's Corporate IT department. This role focuses on driving digital transformation through end-to-end automation solutions and managing a complex multi-cloud ecosystem. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to implement impactful solutions, mentor team members, and ensure the integration of DevOps and security practices into the cloud operations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with thought leaders across IT and the Business to drive business-focused outcomes
• Deliver metric-driven outcomes and effectively communicate status and trends to leadership
• Provide leadership to the broader organization beyond direct responsibilities
• Drive security into every aspect of the platform and collaborate with CYBER for a secure environment
• Evolve the cloud and automation team as the space matures
• Work with Architects to set a Strategy and Roadmap for end-to-end automation and self-service
• Drive evolution in service catalog capabilities and manage the lifecycle
• Establish processes to efficiently manage a multi-cloud ecosystem with agility
• Interface with key vendors on automation and cloud solution implementations
• Integrate with other Cloud leaders to manage cloud and automation platforms
• Assist the FinOps team in driving cost-efficient solutions
• Work with Engineering on the development of new cloud solutions
• Develop and implement solutions with the SRE team for a highly available environment

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience within an IT engineering function and/or consulting team
• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing teams
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on cloud computing/technology experience
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of one of the listed Eaton locations in the US
• Candidate must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in sophisticated, global, matrixed organizations
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience over a cloud operations team
• Strong background in automation and familiarity with Terraform
• Experience leading large-scale IT projects, preferably in cloud migration
• Comfortability with Azure and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Experience managing budgets and financials associated with large-scale projects
