About the position

The Senior Manager - Cloud Operations will lead a geographically diverse cloud operations team responsible for managing and monitoring Eaton's multi-cloud ecosystem. This role focuses on driving digital transformation within the organization, enhancing cloud operations, and fostering a culture shift towards agile methodologies. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to implement solutions that improve operational efficiency and security while mentoring team members and promoting professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with thought leaders across IT and the Businesses to drive business-focused outcomes
• Deliver metric driven outcomes and effectively communicate status and trends to leadership
• Provide leadership to the broader organization outside of direct responsibilities
• Evolve the operations team as they grow and the Cloud space matures
• Work with Architects and Engineering to identify opportunities for improvements in the cloud environment
• Establish processes and methods to efficiently operate and manage a multi-cloud ecosystem
• Interface with key vendors on cloud operations and ongoing management
• Collaborate with the Site Reliability Team (SRE) to improve reliability of the environment
• Drive refinement of metrics that are SMART and report outcomes to senior leadership
• Drive security into every aspect of the platform and collaborate with CYBER on security events
• Drive Zero Trust operational initiatives to successful completion

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience within an IT function and/or consulting team
• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing teams
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on cloud computing/technology experience

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in sophisticated, global, matrixed organizations
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience over a cloud operations team
• Strong background in automation, and familiarity with Terraform
• Experience leading large-scale IT projects, preferably in the cloud migration space
• Comfortability with Azure and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
• Experience managing budgets and financials associated with large scale projects
