About the position

The Senior Manager, Commercialization IT Data and AI/ML Capabilities - Information Architecture position at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS) is a pivotal role that focuses on developing and sustaining a comprehensive information and data strategy tailored for the Commercialization business. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including Data Governance, Data Stewardship, and Reporting & Analytics teams, to ensure that the data management strategy aligns with business needs and enhances user experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining target information architecture and roadmaps, as well as establishing data architecture principles, guidelines, and standards specific to Commercialization. In this role, the Senior Manager will drive decisions related to information architecture, including data flows, conceptual data models, and hierarchies, to support the Commercialization data supply chain. The position also involves representing Commercialization Information Architecture at key operating mechanisms such as Architecture forums and Data Governance Councils. The candidate will advocate for data security and the appropriate use of information within the architecture, ensuring that the target architecture is understood and implemented by relevant IT teams. The role requires a strong commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to evaluate current and emerging data and analytic technology trends. The Senior Manager will coordinate proof of concepts in partnership with build teams and will be expected to demonstrate sophisticated analytical thought, synthesizing results and linking patterns and trends to inform decision-making. This position is integral to BMS's mission of transforming patients' lives through science by leveraging technology and data science to enhance patient care and accelerate scientific discovery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and sustain a Commercialization focused information and data strategy in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop and sustain target information architecture and roadmap(s) for the Commercialization business.
  • Establish Commercialization specific data architecture principles, guidelines, and standards.
  • Drive information architecture decisions on Commercialization data flows and conceptual data models.
  • Ensure that the target information and data architecture is understood and implemented by relevant IT teams.
  • Represent Commercialization IA at key operating mechanisms like Architecture forums and Data Governance Councils.
  • Develop sustainable, reusable design patterns and best practices for delivery teams.
  • Advocate for data security and appropriate use of information within the architecture.
  • Develop and maintain source to target mappings as appropriate.
  • Evaluate current and emerging data, analytic and reporting technology trends and coordinate proof of concepts.

Requirements

  • Advanced knowledge applicable to a wide range of work in own function and thorough knowledge of other functions, typically gained through a university degree and 5+ years of experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to build relationships through diplomacy.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  • Innovative and inquisitive nature to ask questions and challenge the status quo.
  • Agility to learn new tools and processes.
