About the position
The Senior Manager, Communications Special Projects at Walgreens is responsible for leading strategic communication initiatives that drive culture change and enhance employee engagement. This role involves collaboration with Human Resources and various business partners to develop and execute effective communication plans that resonate with team members and reinforce Walgreens' position as an employer of choice.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with business partners to plan and execute culture and change management communications plans.
- Collaborate across corporate and business unit communications to execute communications plans and campaigns effectively.
- Measure the effectiveness of communications and leverage insights for continuous improvement.
- Ensure communications resonate with team members through collaboration with the editorial director.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain consistent communication and identify opportunities for innovative storytelling.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and at least four years of experience in internal communications or public relations, or a High School diploma/GED with at least seven years of experience in the same fields.
- Experience working cross-functionally to execute communications initiatives.
- Experience building relationships with key stakeholders.
- Experience leading and completing multiple projects on deadline.
- At least two years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
- At least two years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with Human Resources or as part of a Human Resources team.
- Experience in marketing or communications.
- Experience leading internal communications for a large and diverse employee population.
- Experience managing outside consultants.
- Experience counseling senior leaders and supporting their communications strategies.
- Experience working in a turnaround, start-up business or intersection of legacy brand in a reinvention phase.
