About the position

The Senior Manager, Communications at the World Food Prize Foundation plays a crucial role in managing and enhancing the organization's communication strategies. This position involves overseeing social media channels, newsletters, and various marketing content to promote the Foundation's mission and maintain its brand identity. The individual will also engage with the public, analyze social media performance, and develop strategic plans for targeted engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Uphold the reputation and identity of the World Food Prize Foundation by maintaining its image online.
  • Create visual and written materials that align with the Foundation's brand and editorial style guide.
  • Monitor and analyze social media performance across various platforms to evaluate effectiveness and boost user engagement.
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to promote the Foundation's programs and events.
  • Schedule posts on the Foundation's social media platforms.
  • Write and design newsletters that align with the Foundation's language and objectives.
  • Utilize marketing platforms such as Sprout Social, Meltwater, Constant Contact, Salesforce, and Asana.
  • Research and adopt the latest trends and best practices in social media to enhance the Foundation's online presence.
  • Work closely with the Graphic Design Program Coordinator to ensure all materials meet platform-specific requirements.
  • Communicate promptly and professionally with the public on inquiries and matters across social media platforms.
  • Maintain the press and media database for newsletters and other emails.
  • Track all project deadlines, progress, and collaborators on an organizational database.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in communications, public relations, journalism, graphic journalism, graphic design, or marketing.
  • 5-7 years of experience strongly preferred; generally, 6-8 years of experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • Graphic design experience required.
  • Prior experience working in a nonprofit or foundation environment desired.
  • Prior experience working in the food and agriculture sector is desired.
  • Experience working with a wide array of stakeholders including funding donors, government officials, agency leaders, and industry experts.
  • Experience in a guest/customer services function at a cultural attraction or in a corporate environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure without losing a customer-service oriented attitude.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing communications for nonprofit organizations.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools.
  • Knowledge of food and agriculture issues.
