About the position

The Senior Manager Compensation & Benefits at Abbott is responsible for providing strategic leadership and subject matter expertise for U.S. employee and retiree benefit programs. This role involves managing complex benefit programs, developing high-value solutions for employees and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. The position is based in Abbott Park, IL, and plays a critical role in enhancing the overall employee experience through effective benefits management.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and management for U.S. employee and retiree benefit programs.
• Research, develop, recommend, and implement strategic solutions for benefits that positively impact employees and the business.
• Manage and produce comprehensive solutions for complex benefit programs and projects, including medical plan design and contribution strategy.
• Lead health and welfare appeals, HSA administration, and data warehouse integration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or relevant field.
• 8+ years of benefits analytical/consulting experience.
• 15+ years of overall HR experience, including project/program management.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage project timelines.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office and project management tools.
• In-depth knowledge of benefits theory, trends, best practices, and laws/regulations.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree (or MBA) in HR, Project Management, or relevant field.
• External compensation consulting experience.
• Experience designing compensation plans and market pricing/benchmarking.
• Experience with large, global organizations.
