About the position

The Content Designer at PayPal plays a crucial role in shaping the content strategy for small business product offerings. This position involves collaborating with UX Designers, Product Owners, and UX Researchers to create user-centric content that simplifies complex information and enhances customer experiences. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong writing skills, capable of managing a small team and driving content initiatives across various platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Help lead content strategy for PayPal's small business product offerings, translating global product requirements, user insights and data into clear, concise, user-centric content.
  • Manage and set vision for a small team of content designers, working collaboratively with visual design.
  • Plan, design and write U.S. English content for web, web, and mobile experiences across all touch points including navigation and UI copy, emails, in-app notifications, chatbots, and help.
  • Effectively interact with and manage business partners from various disciplines, including creative, product, development and brand.
  • Lead internal content workshops.
  • Present your work and articulate your approach to teammates, product owners, and leadership.
  • Partner with Design on page layout, interactions, visual tone, and accessibility standards.
  • Coordinate content with Brand, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure we create a consistent end-to-end experience.
  • Partner with Legal and Risk to deliver content that complies with regulations.
  • Use data and research to evaluate your content's impact and push for continuous improvement that shows real results.
  • Maintain and evolve PayPal's content standards, including voice and tone.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of content strategy experience writing content for interactive user experiences as part of a product design team.
  • Fluency in written English.
  • Confident, highly creative writing and critical-thinking skills.
  • Experience working with content standards, such as style and voice and tone guidelines.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Design, Information Science or related fields is appreciated but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • May substitute up to 2 years of experience with a User Experience related degree, such as Design, Information Science, or HCI.
  • At ease contributing to multiple projects, setting stakeholder expectations, working individually and collaborating across teams.
