About the position

The Senior Manager, Digital Creative Direction at L'Oreal's Consumer Product Division (CPD) is a pivotal role responsible for managing the execution and delivery of all creative assets to support the brands within L'Oreal CPD USA, particularly for the e-retail channel. This position is situated within the CPD CDMO Content Factory and requires a strong Art Director with robust design capabilities and a deep understanding of digital channels. The Senior Manager will collaborate cross-functionally to create on-brand, high-performing assets for various digital platforms, ensuring that the creative output aligns with brand guidelines and meets strategic objectives. In this role, the Senior Manager will oversee the production of a high volume of digital content, including paid media, organic social, digital video, and product imagery. The individual will work closely with multiple stakeholders to drive data-driven programs and initiatives that support strategic brand objectives, enhance consumer touchpoints, and improve market share and media performance. The Senior Manager will also be responsible for project management, guiding creative requests from inception to execution, and ensuring that all deliverables meet the highest standards of creative excellence. The position requires a strategic thinker who can articulate and apply the latest trends in e-retail platforms, such as Amazon, Target, and Walmart, while maintaining a focus on performance-driven marketing. The Senior Manager will attend brand marketing meetings, serve as the voice for digital creative processes, and manage in-house product shoots, ensuring that all creative direction is effectively brought to life. This role also includes the management and development of one direct report, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate cross-departments and teams to develop a variety of best-in-class digital content needs that meet creative and strategic criteria and deliver measurable business results.
  • Execute full funnel digital creative content rooted in fact-based insights for performance-driven marketing, focusing on eCommerce performance and brand loyalty for Amazon.
  • Operate as brand steward, liaising among various brand partners and with Content Factory Strategy & Production Leads.
  • Maintain consistency while elevating multiple brands across categories including cosmetics, skincare, haircare, and hair color.
  • Ensure creative excellence and adherence to brand guidelines, demonstrating a results-oriented mindset and insights/data-driven approach to creative.
  • Understand and strategically apply the latest e-retail platforms and industry trends to enhance creative output.
  • Attend brand marketing meetings to communicate digital creative processes effectively.
  • Create a high volume of assets across all channels and mediums, adapting designs for optimal performance based on insights.
  • Project manage all creative requests from cross-functional team members from brief through to execution.
  • Execute new concepts and repurpose existing content when necessary.
  • Work with copywriters, user experience, and brand leaders to bring brand messaging to life seamlessly.
  • Manage in-house product shoots for brand and media needs, assisting with post-production selects and retouching/editing notes.

Requirements

  • College Degree
  • 5-10 years of professional experience in a creative environment in graphic design and digital asset development for social/direct to consumer eCommerce strategies and campaigns, preferably in Beauty or a CPG brand.
  • Experience with Amazon and D2C strategies is a plus.
  • A portfolio demonstrating relevant experience is required.
  • Passion for beauty, aesthetics, and bringing a brand's vision to life.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong understanding of eCommerce, visual storytelling, and marketing.
  • Experience leading a team with art direction for both photo and video production, including pre and post-production requirements.
  • Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Bridge.
  • Ability to influence design talent to develop on-brand assets.
  • Mastery of industry and digital best practices with strong knowledge of platform/industry/creative trends.
  • Experience building client relationships and the ability to pivot thinking and adjust style when necessary.
  • Strong creative vision and understanding of brand business needs and objectives.
