About the position

The Senior Manager position at Sony Corporation of America focuses on leading the Data Enablement group within the Digital Transformation division. Responsibilities

  • Instill effective processes and accountability to enforce data governance policies.
  • Understand and implement data policies with a strong emphasis on privacy, business, and security.
  • Develop a comprehensive data catalog for effective discovery of data assets.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Technology teams to document data sources and manage metadata.
  • Foster collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and requirements.
  • Manage direct reports, instilling structure and good project hygiene.
  • Develop clear roles and responsibilities and navigate ambiguity into actionable steps.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business, information systems, or related fields; Master's degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in the data field, particularly in data governance, data privacy, or data project management.
  • 3+ years in management of direct reports.
  • Strong understanding of relational database and ETL concepts.
  • Skilled in developing execution paths from high-level ideas.
  • IAPP/CIPP certification highly desired.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Japanese language fluency is a big plus.
