About the position

The Senior Manager, Data Enablement at Sony is responsible for leading the Data Enablement group within the Digital Transformation division. This role focuses on effective stewardship of data assets, emphasizing data governance, privacy compliance, and the discoverability of data through cataloging. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and ensure compliance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Instill effective processes and accountability to enforce data governance policies.
  • Develop a comprehensive data catalog for effective discovery of data assets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and requirements.
  • Manage direct reports and instill structure and good project hygiene.
  • Navigate ambiguity into actionable steps and establish alignment in processes.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in business, information systems, or related fields; Master's degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in the data field, particularly in data governance, data privacy, data project management, or metadata management.
  • 3+ years in management of direct reports.
  • Strong understanding of relational database and ETL concepts.
  • Skilled in developing an execution path from high-level ideas.
  • IAPP/CIPP certification highly desired.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Japanese language fluency is a big plus.
