About the position

The position involves managing a team of senior data engineers responsible for developing software code that formats, tags, processes, stores, and serves data. The role includes overseeing modernization efforts for the Personal Investor CDAO, leading a hybrid workforce, and ensuring the optimization of data processes and integrity across various projects.

Responsibilities

• Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew, providing guidance and training as necessary.
• Manages and optimizes the automation of key ETL processes for large volumes of data.
• Consults with senior leaders on strategies and operating plans, executing and adjusting plans for the team of Data Engineers.
• Directs the planning, prioritization, and execution of data production projects and processes.
• Manages the design and development of software and processes to support large scale, efficient data pipelines.
• Monitors and troubleshoots software and processes for data consistency and integrity.
• Develops and exercises cross-functional data delivery to support business needs.
• Builds and recruits a team of Data Engineering experts across Vanguard.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of ten years business or technical experience including people management and data expertise.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Graduate degree or PhD preferred.
