About the position

The Senior Manager, Data Platform Engineering will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enhancing core data platforms while supporting the data and analytics ecosystems, applications, and tools. This role involves collaboration with various stakeholders, including Platform Owners, Business Channel leaders, and external vendors, to ensure optimal user experience and platform functionality.

Responsibilities

  • Define strategic vision for key functionalities within ADUSA Data platforms.
  • Become a subject matter expert in data platform architecture guidance, particularly in 'Data Lakehouse'.
  • Define data platform standards, guidelines, and recipes in collaboration with architecture and Platform Owners.
  • Partner with architecture to design, test, and deliver critical functionality to support enterprise goals.
  • Influence senior business stakeholders on roadmap prioritization decisions using executive presence skills.
  • Oversee team compliance with Change Management and IT Security policies.
  • Lead a team of DevOps engineers in an agile environment to deliver PaaS, IaaS, and IaC solutions.
  • Manage a team of DataOps support engineers providing 24/7 support for data platforms.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in technology.
  • 5+ years in an advanced role or technical capacity, leading teams directly or indirectly.
  • 5+ years of experience managing an agile engineering team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Post graduate degree or advanced training in relevant fields.
  • 5+ years experience in Agile teams and Product/Platform based operating model.
  • 5+ years experience in leading teams or advancing technical capability in teams.
  • 2-5 years experience in DevOps or Azure DevOps.
  • 2-5 years experience in Databricks and/or MongoDB.
  • 2-5 years experience in GitHub.
