Wells Fargo is seeking a Database Engineer Manager within the Application and Cloud Transformation team. The role leads the Engineering team that develops Database and Data Movement technologies for the Wells Fargo Azure Public Cloud. In this role, you will lead, mentor, and guide an agile-enabled large team of mid to senior-level database engineers and lower-level database engineering managers with integrity and create an environment where your employees feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them. You will accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented employees, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing, and developing employees, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks. You will partner with senior product leaders, lead systems architects, and engineering managers to develop cloud database functional and technical strategies for the LOB product portfolio. Providing expertise and thought leadership in the portfolio domain, you will leverage external perspectives, trends, and research to inform the development of actionable strategies and plans. You will lead the most complex or critical cloud database engineering initiatives that typically involve multiple disciplines and multiple business groups, including database architecture, design, and integration. Consulting extensively with multiple client groups, you will provide strategic solutions, influencing long-range internal and enterprise-level database architecture and management strategies while handling multiple and conflicting projects and deadlines. Additionally, you will support financial forecasts, budget development, and continuous improvement of engineering practices, ensuring compliance and risk management requirements for the supported area are met. You will provide technology risk oversight for the product and application portfolio, recommending risk management requirements and partnering with stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives. Acting as the primary interface with third-party vendors and technology service providers supporting products within the portfolio, you may also interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies, and/or industry forums.
