About the position

The Sr. Manager of Database Reliability will lead a dynamic team focused on ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of database platforms. This role requires a strong background in managing technical staff, extensive experience with AWS technologies, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mentoring team members, driving automation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of Database Reliability Engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
• Drive the design, implementation, and operation of scalable and highly available database solutions.
• Spearhead the development of automation frameworks for zero-downtime deployments and efficient database management.
• Guide the evolution of database infrastructure, including the adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
• Serve as a trusted resource for complex database challenges, providing expertise in crisis situations.
• Collaborate with application development teams to ensure seamless integration and performance of database resources.
• Ensure thorough documentation of all database architectures, processes, and policies.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to improve database reliability strategies.

Requirements

• Proven track record of managing and mentoring technical teams.
• Deep knowledge of AWS and its core technologies.
• Hands-on experience in database reliability, deployment automation, and cloud infrastructure management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in problem-solving and providing effective assistance in crisis situations.
• Passion for leveraging modern tools and practices to drive efficiency and reliability.
