About the position

Momentous is seeking a Senior Manager of Planning and Inventory Management to lead our forecasting and inventory management efforts. This role is pivotal in ensuring global product availability and effective working capital management. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing the tools necessary for a robust forecast planning process, leading the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, and maintaining accurate supply and demand plans across our network. The Senior Manager will also enhance processes and systems to support finance and supply chain functions, ensuring the use of appropriate statistical models and incorporating insights from various departments such as marketing, finance, and analytics. In this role, you will analyze historical demand, filter out outliers, and identify the most suitable statistical forecasting algorithms. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of base-plan variances, propose opportunities for improvement, and communicate consensus across teams. Additionally, you will manage SKU creation and strategy, streamline future SKU growth, and lead an overhaul of our planning and reporting tools. Continuous improvement of forecasts will be essential, taking into account promotional activities, inventory changes, consumption trends, and other relevant factors. You will maintain transparency and control over supplies and inventory throughout the supply chain, create thresholds to prevent stockouts, and lead monthly forecast reviews with various teams to validate and adjust forecasts. Collaboration with the fulfillment team and cross-functional teams will be crucial to ensure alignment and effective communication of strategies that support consistent cost of goods sold (COGS) management. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying risks and opportunities, as well as collaboration with product management for new product launches and enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze historical demand, filter out outliers, and identify the most appropriate statistical forecasting algorithm.
  • Develop base-plan understanding variances, propose opportunities, communicate consensus.
  • Develop and manage SKU creation and strategy, as well as categories to streamline future SKU growth.
  • Assess, develop and lead an overhaul of our planning and reporting tools.
  • Maintain monthly/weekly reconciliation processes.
  • Continuously improve forecasts through evaluation of promotional activity, inventory changes, consumption trends, customer type, geopolitical issues, global strategic initiatives, category trends, and media and advertising plans.
  • Deploy real-time demand and inventory forecasting modeling.
  • Attend key stakeholder/leadership meetings and make recommendations based on a sound understanding of supply, demand, and real-time global supply chain assessment.
  • Maintain transparency and efficient control over all supplies, materials and final-good inventory throughout the supply chain network.
  • Create thresholds and protect all channels from going out of stock.
  • Lead monthly forecast reviews with Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations Teams to validate and adjust current forecasts, gaining full alignment with business owners and executive management (own the S&OP).
  • Work with the fulfillment team to provide regular monthly forecasts to key third parties (3PLs) so that they can plan and be held accountable to their SLAs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to develop and communicate a comprehensive strategy that supports consistent COGS management.
  • Communicate risk and opportunities to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Identify and assess opportunities for structural, technological and capabilities enhancements.
  • Collaborate with the product team to manage updated/new product launches and enhancements.
  • Act as key user and partner with Finance/Accounting on Cin 7 SOP and best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of successful experience in demand planning, forecasting, procurement and/or supply chain planning.
  • Ability to understand financial measurements and how to impact them.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail for accuracy; organized and able to effectively prioritize, meet tight deadlines and maintain good quality work.
  • Solution oriented, problem solver with pro-active follow-through.
  • High attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of inventory modeling and supply chain management concepts.
  • Proven track record of high impact business results.
