About the position

The Senior Manager, Design Operations at Capital One is a strategic leader responsible for aligning and collaborating with executive-level Design, Product, and Enterprise efforts. This role involves developing and executing operational strategies to address business challenges, managing service design and delivery, and overseeing various programs including talent acquisition and budget management. The Senior Manager will work closely with the RDO Leadership team and other stakeholders to enhance operational effectiveness and drive strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an operational strategy for the Research and Design Operations team.
  • Design services and systems to remove roadblocks for design teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to uncover user and business needs.
  • Lead a team of project managers to drive project and program efforts.
  • Oversee special projects that do not fit into traditional workstreams.
  • Manage relationships with senior leadership and act as a trusted advisor.
  • Track priority initiatives and communicate status to leadership.
  • Manage team structure, including hiring and onboarding.
  • Plan and manage budgets, forecasting, and scoping new engagements.
  • Identify and manage risks and mitigation plans.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in design operations or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience in program management and operational strategy development.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and initiatives.
