About the position

The Senior Manager, Design Operations at Capital One is a strategic leader responsible for aligning and collaborating with executive-level Design, Product, and Enterprise efforts. This role involves developing and executing operational strategies to address business challenges, managing service design and delivery, and overseeing various programs including talent acquisition and budget management. The Senior Manager will work closely with the RDO Leadership team and other stakeholders to enhance the effectiveness of the Experience Design organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an operational strategy for the Research and Design Operations team.
  • Design services and systems to remove roadblocks for design teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to uncover user and business needs.
  • Lead a team of project managers to drive project and program efforts.
  • Handle oversight of special projects and report on their progress to leadership.
  • Collaborate with teams to implement priority XD initiatives.
  • Manage business-critical relationships on behalf of leadership.
  • Assess and prioritize RDO initiatives and track their progress.
  • Mentor and coach team members to build successful teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in design operations or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience in program management and operational strategy development.
  • Ability to manage budgets and forecast financial needs.
