About the position

As a Senior Manager of Digital Products at Central, you will lead a team of Product Owners responsible for creating and delivering solutions that enhance our Core Policy Personal Lines, Core Policy Commercial Lines, Billing & Finance, and Claims Products. This role involves bridging Product Management and Engineering, breaking down long-term strategies into executable roadmaps, and ensuring effective collaboration between teams to maximize product development investments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Product Owners to create and deliver digital product solutions.
  • Conduct user-focused market research and ensure continuous discovery work is shared with actionable findings.
  • Coach the team on articulating the prioritization process to stakeholders and addressing root problems in enhancements.
  • Facilitate relationships with legal and compliance teams, recognizing patent potential.
  • Assist the team in developing market selection strategies and understanding routes to market.
  • Coach teams on creating business cases and conducting viability analyses for product strategies.
  • Review initiatives and suggest improvements for roadmaps and work breakdowns.
  • Broker sizing conversations with Product Development, PM, and Design to ensure all perspectives are considered.
  • Ensure the team is constantly testing assumptions and reporting on outcomes of tests.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with engineering to ensure adequate detail is provided for development commits.
  • Track outcomes and release progress, adjusting plans as needed.
  • Ensure timely responses to enhancement requests and proper prioritization of requests.
  • Coach the team on handling challenging stakeholder relationships and serve as an escalation point.
  • Develop rollout plans for product releases and ensure compliance with internal audit and security teams.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in business management or related field and 4 years of direct Product Management experience including 1 year management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or related field and 4 years of direct Product Management experience including 1 year management experience.
  • 8 years of direct Product Management experience including 1 year management experience.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team of product owners.
  • Expert research skills to conduct primary and secondary market research.
  • Expert ability to gather and synthesize large quantities of information to find unmet needs and opportunities.
  • Expert strategic thinking skills to develop roadmaps.
  • Basic financial accounting skills to populate predefined business case templates and make recommendations based on results.
  • Clear written communication skills to convert research to requirements and evangelize products.
  • Excellent public speaking skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong knowledge and experience with the software development lifecycle.
  • Strong experience working in an agile environment.
  • Ability to communicate in both software engineering jargon and non-technical language.
