About the position

Join a vital, important and inspired mission and a committed, enthusiastic, supportive team at the American Jewish Historical Society (AJHS); America's oldest ethnic, cultural archive. Established in 1892, the American Jewish History Society provides access to more than 30 million documents and 50,000 books, photographs, art and artifacts that reflect the history of the Jewish presence in the United States from 1654 to the present. We foster awareness and appreciation of American Jewish heritage and serve as a center for national scholarly research. Among our archival treasures, exhibitions, and public programs is the handwritten original of Emma Lazarus' The New Colossus, which graces the Statue of Liberty. We also collect and preserve records of the nation's leading Jewish communal organizations, and important collections in the fields of education, philanthropy, science, sports, business, and the arts. AJHS is in the midst of many exciting enhancements to our mission and work, including developing media such as podcasts, traveling exhibitions and documentaries, as well as meaningful membership, planned giving and representative retail programs. We have embarked on projects in support of teacher training, K12 curriculum development, and increased collections cultivation. This is an exciting opportunity and time to join a historic and increasingly important institution, as AJHS seeks an accomplished, motivated, creative and thoughtful addition to our Advancement team, in the role of Senior Manager, Donor Relations and Data.
