The Senior Manager Engineering, Construction & Capital Equipment Category Lead at Bristol Myers Squibb is a pivotal procurement role focused on sourcing activities to support the company's capital projects. This position requires collaboration with the Engineering Team to develop strategies, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships, ensuring optimal value and project execution. The role emphasizes strong communication and operational alignment with various stakeholders, including internal teams and external suppliers, to facilitate successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Engage actively with Business Partners to develop sourcing strategies for capital projects.
  • Facilitate decision-making for contract award recommendations within project teams.
  • Develop and review statements of work, performance terms, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Prepare and solicit competitive bids, quotations, and proposals with relevant specifications.
  • Evaluate competitive bids to determine the best overall value for the company.
  • Negotiate and issue contracts and service orders, ensuring legal and finance approvals are obtained.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering and Construction procurement team to establish Master Services Agreements with key suppliers.
  • Implement procurement best practices to ensure compliance with policies.
  • Manage internal and external relationships with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct evaluations to determine supplier performance and coordinate supplier inquiries.
  • Utilize the Ariba Procure to Pay platform for procurement processes.
  • Develop strategic plans and objectives in alignment with Business Partners.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in engineering and construction.
  • 4-7 years of procurement or relevant experience.
  • Expertise in internal stakeholder management, data management, and category management.
  • Strong project management and performance measurement skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills for interaction with multiple levels within the company.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Customer service orientation with excellent analytical, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Independence in work requiring minimal supervision from senior management.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, category management, and contract management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Managerial and/or team leadership experience.
  • Prior cGMP experience in biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, or medical device industry.
  • Relevant industry certifications.
