About the position

This role is responsible for integrating all aspects of Engineering Software (SW) functions into Enterprise Services (ES) Strategy and Transformation Initiatives through collaborating and partnering with suppliers, ES leaders, and functional service owners. A key component of the role is to develop supplier capabilities, partnerships, and category strategies for internal use requirements. The ideal candidate will draw from past experience with various Engineering software technologies and can assist with translating this knowledge via contract negotiations and project management skills to lead the coordination, communication, and integration of suppliers to support the achievement of technical, financial, and performance objectives. This individual will have an understanding of supplier products and develop various strategies to drive year-on-year cost savings to help RTX meet its bottom line. An understanding of the end-to-end procurement process, from contract negotiations to requisition and PO placement is needed for this role. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to develop effective presentations and present to leadership and peers.

Responsibilities

  • Build a strategy, lead and manage negotiations for Engineering Software (SW) contracts to ensure favorable terms and conditions to the achievement of technical, financial and performance objectives for RTX.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders including partnership peers, legal, finance, and cyber to align contract terms with company objectives.
  • Manage relationship with suppliers ensuring adherence to agreed terms, quality, and opportunity development.
  • Establish supplier engagement plans and enforce overall governance within the portfolio.
  • Develop and manage an integrated master schedule of engagements, renewals, RFQs, etc.
  • Facilitate supplier performance reviews, benchmarks & reporting.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the investigation, negotiation, and favorable resolution of disputes with suppliers.
  • Maintain organized and accurate records of all contract negotiations, drafts, and final agreements.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in software contracting.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements in deal tracking (savings, risk, metrics) and contract management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree with an MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years Sourcing and Procurement Management with at least 5 years in Digital Preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth understanding of various types of software licensing models for Engineering Software.
  • Strong background in negotiating software/SaaS contracts to drive year on year cost savings to help RTX meet its bottom line.
  • Ability to proactively identify and resolve problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Understand and perform contract redlines.
  • Business acumen to connect technical requirements and concerns to contract performance.
  • A deep understanding of the end-to-end procurement process.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand financial information, budgets and program performance and develop strategies and business cases to improve performance in these areas.
  • Strong working skillset with Microsoft Suite of Products including Excel, Word and Teams.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements.
