About the position

The Senior Manager of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) at Torque is responsible for overseeing EHS programs across mobile maintenance operations for commercial motor vehicles throughout the United States. This role focuses on developing, implementing, and continuously improving safety, health, and environmental programs to ensure employee safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. The position requires strategic leadership to foster a safety culture and drive compliance while supporting the company's growth and operational goals.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage compliance programs and safety management systems for mobile maintenance services.
  • Conduct hazard analysis and site evaluations to identify potential risks and develop proactive solutions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory agencies for inspections and compliance issues.
  • Provide oversight and guidance on safety processes to maintain a competitive advantage and reduce safety-related losses.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on safety protocols and hazardous material handling.
  • Lead and supervise EHS Analysts, providing mentorship and professional development.
  • Track key performance metrics related to safety, health, and environmental compliance and provide updates to senior leadership.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align EHS initiatives with business objectives.
  • Drive the development and implementation of innovative safety solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Science, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of experience managing EHS programs, preferably in mobile maintenance or transportation.
  • Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are preferred.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor EHS staff.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proven experience with implementing EHS management systems and conducting hazard assessments.
