About the position

The Senior Manager, Field Applications (Bio Production) at Thermo Fisher Scientific is responsible for leading a regional Field Applications team in the Americas. This role involves providing technical expertise to customers, managing key accounts, and ensuring customer satisfaction. The manager will spend a significant portion of their time in the field, collaborating closely with sales and other departments to drive performance and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the management of regional key accounts and critical issues as part of the Service and Support leadership team.
  • Assist the Field Application Scientist (FAS) team in planning and organizing activities to support commercial sales and customers effectively.
  • Implement and drive training plans and performance improvement initiatives for the field applications team.
  • Develop and maintain metrics to highlight performance and identify gaps within the field application team.
  • Evaluate employee performance, provide ongoing feedback, and conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Develop, share, and implement the long-term vision and strategy for the Field Applications Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Science, Business, Marketing, or a related field; Advanced Degree in Business or Science preferred.
  • 7+ years of effective sales representative experience managing accounts, sales, and client relationships.
  • 3+ years of experience leading a team preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership and management skills.
  • Experience in setting sales strategies and coaching sales representatives.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing a territory with a revenue of $100M or more.
  • Strong analytical skills for analyzing market trends and competitor activities.
  • Experience in business planning, forecasting, and budgeting resources.
