Senior Manager Finance Analytics

About the position

As a Senior Manager Analytics, Operations Finance in Birmingham, Minneapolis, MN or remotely you will be responsible for leading our Data Analytics team within the Finance organization at Shipt. This role will report to the Director of Research and Reporting, helping to drive strategic decision-making through data driven insights, playing a critical role in optimizing reporting/analytics capabilities and supporting cross-functional initiatives. While no two days are the same you will oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. You will develop and maintain dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) to provide actionable insights to finance leaders and key stakeholders. You will drive the integration of advanced analytics and automation tools to enhance efficiencies and present analytical findings and recommendations to Finance leaders. You will collaborate with Data Science team to oversee data architecture, integration, and management, ensuring efficient data flow and accessibility. You will also work closely with various departments, including Data Science, Finance/Accounting and Operations, to ensure alignment on strategic goals and initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Analytics team within the Finance organization.
• Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of financial and operational data.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools.
• Drive the integration of advanced analytics and automation tools.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to Finance leaders.
• Collaborate with Data Science team to oversee data architecture, integration, and management.
• Work closely with various departments to ensure alignment on strategic goals and initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science or a related field.
• 7 years of experience in data science, finance analytics, operations finance or related fields.
• SQL proficiency and familiarity with aggregation, joins and window functions.
• Proficiency in data analysis languages (e.g., R, Python) and dashboard tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
• Experience with process automation (e.g., Airflow) and with Excel or Google Sheets.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
• Proactive and adaptable to changing business needs.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience using APIs, especially Slack, Google Maps, and Google Drive.
• Basic data engineering skills (transforming raw data for storage in another table).
