About the position

The Senior Manager Finance Project Management position plays a pivotal role in supporting the efficient execution of projects within the Finance of the Future Program. Reporting directly to the Associate Director Finance Portfolio Management, the Senior Manager Finance Project Management will support projects that optimize finance processes, drive efficiency, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, organized, and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage Finance projects/initiatives from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Assist in resolving escalated project issues and risks, fostering collaboration and facilitating communication among project stakeholders.
  • Serve as Finance subject matter expert, providing guidance to project team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure Finance compliance and effectiveness.
  • Lead change management initiatives related to Finance process improvements, ensuring seamless transitions and user adoption.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to Finance staff and stakeholders.
  • Foster strong working relationships with Finance of the Future global program team members, department heads, and external partners to drive successful project outcomes.
  • Act as a liaison between Finance and other departments to ensure alignment of project goals with organizational objectives.
  • Proactively identify, assess and mitigate project and portfolio risks.
  • Support in developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project risks and issues and provide status updates.
  • Assist in tracking project budgets and expenses.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports related to project expenditures.
  • Assist in maintaining project quality standards and adherence to best practices.
  • Participate in quality reviews and audits as required.
  • Foster positive relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, department heads and project sponsors.
  • Communicate portfolio status, progress and performance to stakeholders through regular reporting and presentations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, business administration, operations management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Working knowledge of financial planning, performance management and financial close are highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 6 years of professional experience is required, with at least 2+ years in project, business transformation and/or equivalent, with a track record of successfully managing multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align projects with organizational goals.
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Knowledge of change management principles and practices.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or PSM/CSM - Professional/Certified Scrum Master certification is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks effectively.
