About the position

We are seeking a Senior Manager within our Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting team. This role will have a high focus on assessing the accounting for new and/or complex transactions. The individual will also be responsible for overseeing Regeneron's accounting policies and internal control processes and will interact and partner with various business functions and senior leadership. This position will provide exposure to a variety of unique transactions and will give the individual the opportunity to be a key contributor in Regeneron's overall financial reporting and technical accounting process. With the ongoing global expansion of Regeneron, the individual will be a key contributor in a growing and dynamic environment. The role is hybrid 3 days onsite, based at our HQ campus in Sleepy Hollow, NY. This role is not open to fully remote-based work arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and analyze the accounting and reporting implications and financial statement impact of acquisitions, collaborations, and in/out-licensing arrangements by reviewing proposals, term sheets, contracts, and other related documents and holding discussions with appropriate business functions.
  • Research and develop technical accounting position papers/memos for significant or unusual transactions and document conclusions.
  • Partner with various business functions to support acquisition due diligence, accounting, and integration activities.
  • Lead or assist with other special project work as identified.
  • Ensure accuracy of business development-related accounting and disclosure in Regeneron's reporting on Form 10-K and 10-Q.
  • Review various internally prepared reports, presentations, and other documents which include financial information for accuracy and consistency.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of Regeneron's accounting-related policies, including working with appropriate business functions to understand and document key policy decisions.
  • Participate in the preparation and review of quarterly earnings release and US GAAP quarterly and annual financial statements and disclosures, including reporting on Form 10-K and 10-Q.
  • Prepare and/or review schedules related to technical accounting matters (e.g., intangible assets, income taxes, etc.) to support financial statement disclosures.
  • Evaluate proposed changes to FASB pronouncements or SEC rules, including preparation of executive-level summaries and detailed project implementation plans.
  • Assist in the oversight of Regeneron's internal control environment, including proactively working with various business function owners to review and update internal control documentation to reflect Regeneron's changing business environment.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency and controls.
  • Coordinate and work closely with Internal Audit and external auditors to facilitate efficient execution of review and/or audit procedures.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships, open transparent communication, and effective partnership and coordination with various business functions.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge and meet continuing professional education requirements by attending educational workshops and conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting required.
  • 8+ years of proven experience in financial reporting and technical accounting.
  • Public accounting or SEC reporting preparation/technical accounting experience required.
  • CPA or advanced degree required.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP accounting principles and SEC reporting requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to independently organize and lead meetings and effectively convey complex accounting in an individual or group setting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize demands effectively.
  • Team player with strong business partnering skills.
