About the position

The Senior Manager, Global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering at Vertiv will lead the worldwide switchgear manufacturing strategy and technology. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance operational excellence, drive time to market, and support business growth through industrial transformation and supply chain readiness activities. The individual will translate customer requirements into defined process areas, ensuring effective new product development and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Core functional member within New Product Development (NPD) Global project teams.
  • Ensure appropriate resources & priorities are aligned with Global Roadmaps & Key Strategic Projects.
  • Extensive communication/coordination/alignment and participation with cross-functional teams & project meetings.
  • Insure DFx is applied during NPDI project with a heavy focus on DFM.
  • Coordinate the manufacturing requirements of new products, from project concept to release.
  • Direct all stages of prototype builds and pilot runs.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers and Materials teams to develop documentation for new products.
  • Communicate project requirements, actions, and status with other departments.
  • Track and publish NPI Deliverables using defined tools and databases.
  • Plan Manufacturing Process Flow Charts and Production Readiness Evaluations.
  • Conduct Cost Analysis - cost estimates and standards costing.
  • Specify Capex investment requirements for new offers - new equipment and tooling requirements.
  • Lead New Product Development Introduction (NPDI), Engineering to Order (ETO), Design Transfers, and Strategic Initiative projects.
  • Support Key Supplier/ODM Selection & Qualification.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in new product process and manufacturing production line setup.
  • Excellent knowledge in project management and new product design.
  • Proficient in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Excellence (DFX).
  • Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Control Plans.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing & Value Stream Mapping (VSM).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Power Point, Excel, Word).
  • Strong problem-solving skills using tools like FMEA, DOE, and Quality Tools.
  • 6 Sigma certification (Green Belt and Black Belt training).
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.

  • Advanced Manufacturing Training/Experience; Lean Manufacturing, VSM, Six-Sigma.
  • Executive Level reporting/communication skills.
