About the position

The Senior Manager, Global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering at Vertiv Corporation is responsible for driving the worldwide switchgear manufacturing strategy and technology. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance operational excellence, assess manufacturing technology, and plan capacity to support business growth. The individual will lead industrial transformation and supply chain readiness activities, ensuring that customer requirements are effectively translated into manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Core functional member within New Product Development (NPD) Global project teams.
  • Ensures appropriate resources & priorities are aligned with Global Roadmaps & Key Strategic Projects.
  • Extensive communication, coordination, alignment, and participation with cross-functional teams & project meetings.
  • Coordinate the manufacturing requirements of new products, from project concept to release of new products.
  • Direct all stages of prototype builds and pilot runs.
  • Work with Manufacturing Engineers and Materials teams to develop documentation for new products (bills of material, routings, and manufacturing instructions).
  • Communicate project requirements, actions, and status with other departments.
  • Track and publish NPI Deliverables using defined tools and databases.
  • Specify Capex investment requirements for the new offer - new equipment and tooling requirements.
  • Lead New Product Development Introduction (NPDI), Engineering to Order (ETO), Design Transfers, Strategic Initiative projects.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in new product development and manufacturing engineering.
  • Strong understanding of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Experience in project management and cross-functional team collaboration.
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of supply chain mapping and optimization.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with switchgear and busbar manufacturing technology.
  • Familiarity with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Proficiency in cost analysis and standards costing.
