About the position

The Senior Manager, Global Labeling Implementation at Johnson & Johnson is responsible for overseeing the labeling implementation processes and activities that support product launches and lifecycle updates. This role involves managing artwork, ensuring compliance with labeling regulations, and collaborating with external service providers. The position requires strong leadership skills to coach and develop staff while ensuring that the team meets business needs through effective resource management and process optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage labeling implementation processes for US product launches and lifecycle updates.
  • Oversee artwork management and Change Control input.
  • Ensure timely completion of labeling history documents and input for Annual Reports.
  • Assign and enumerate National Drug Codes (NDC) and Global Trade Identification Numbers (GTIN) for new products.
  • Provide guidance on US drug listings and Structured Product Labeling (SPL).
  • Evaluate and respond to Product Quality Complaints (PQCs) related to labeling artwork.
  • Conduct periodic labeling gap assessments to ensure compliance with business needs.
  • Develop and manage budget, workload, and resource allocation.
  • Coach and train staff on labeling regulations and processes.
  • Build talent through performance feedback and development opportunities.
  • Support compliance activities including audits and inspections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education.
  • 8 years of relevant experience, including 4+ years in the healthcare industry and 2 years in product labeling/labeling regulations.
  • 2+ years of people management experience preferred.
  • End-to-end labeling knowledge and understanding of US labeling regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in process improvement and change leadership.
  • Proven track record of leading projects to successful completion.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and external service providers.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience assigning NDCs.
  • Understanding of barcoding elements for pharmaceutical packaging.
  • Knowledge of trends and technologies in Digital Labeling.
  • Experience with Artwork Management systems and Electronic Proofreading technology.
  • Project or program management experience in quality and compliance activities.
  • Familiarity with dashboards and metrics tools like Tableau.
  • Comfortable delivering communications for diverse audiences.
