About the position

The Senior Manager, HMA & GMA Franchise Development is responsible for managing the retail Dealer Network of Hyundai Motor America (HGMA). This role involves overseeing dealer appointments, terminations, and compliance with corporate policies, while also ensuring the strategic development of the dealer network. The position requires collaboration with various departments and the ability to make informed decisions to enhance dealer performance and maintain competitiveness in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the accuracy and adherence of dealer sales and service agreement (DSSA) contract packages to established HGMA policy.
  • Evaluate Dealers' performance and compliance with performance management program specifications.
  • Review proposed appointments of dealership General Manager candidates and ensure proper documentation in the DSSA.
  • Re-evaluate existing Department policy regarding dealer network management and develop innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with HGMA Legal teams to review and modify DSSA contract agreements as needed.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HGMA's business plans for Dealer Network Development.
  • Promote a brand compliant Dealer Network through analysis of Dealers' facility and branding obligations.
  • Maintain HGMA's national master Dealer Network file database and address related inquiries.
  • Monitor dealer activities for accuracy in intercompany databases and master dealer files.
  • Supervise the workload and professional development of 2-3 department associates.
  • Maintain communication with interdepartmental, regional, and third-party vendors.
  • Engage in monthly National DND and Regional Market Representation DSSA compliance meetings.
  • Generate reports, resolve DND systems issues, and support ad hoc project requests.
  • Update assigned projects and agreement package trackers in a timely manner and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Collaborate with Regions, National DND, and Legal to execute agreement packages within policy requirements.

Requirements

  • High school graduate required; Bachelor's degree preferred; Master's degree a plus.
  • Eight or more years of experience in the automotive industry, with at least five years of directly related experience.
  • Three or more years of supervisory experience is desired.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
  • Critical thinking and understanding of the Big Picture.
