About the position

The Senior Manager - HR Partner at United Airlines is responsible for providing comprehensive HR support to Airport Operations at IAH airport. This role focuses on employee relations, policy implementation, and collaboration with business partners to achieve HR and business objectives. The position requires strong leadership skills to manage a team of HR Business Partners and to establish effective partnerships with management and union leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Provide HR support to Airport Operations at IAH airport.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with assigned Business Partners and employee/Union leadership.
  • Collaborate with HR Leadership and Business Partners to implement HR and business strategies/objectives for the region.
  • Act as a liaison between management, legal, and corporate regarding employment compliance issues.
  • Provide HR leadership, consultation, and support to Airport Operations.
  • Lead a team of HR Business Partners.
  • Support business/HR related decisions, including forecasting, staff planning, and employee relations.
  • Partner with business leadership in workforce planning, organizational development, and performance management.
  • Manage day-to-day Human Resources functions and provide strategy and counsel on projects.
  • Build and maintain working relationships with regional Union and employee leadership.
  • Support management and administrative employees in Employee Relations matters.
  • Conduct internal investigations and document findings/recommendations.
  • Oversee the implementation of recognition programs across the division.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of HR generalist experience with emphasis on business partnerships and employee advocacy.
  • 2 years of Project/Program Management experience.
  • 2 years of Management/Leadership experience.
  • Strong employee relations experience.
  • Generalist background with knowledge of Employee Relations, Labor Relations, and Conflict Resolution.
  • Familiarity with Company policies and guidelines.
  • Solid knowledge of FMLA, EEO laws, ADA, and other employment-related laws.
  • Understanding of discretion and confidentiality in HR matters.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and deal with complex issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a strong employee advocacy orientation.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and plan in a fast-paced environment.
