About the position

The Senior Manager of Human Resource Operations at PGE is responsible for driving the HR strategy, mission, vision, and values while ensuring that HR meets its goals. This role involves leading various functional areas within HR, including strategy, employee experience, communications, and technology, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and customer service. The position requires collaboration with senior leadership to develop and implement HR initiatives that align with the company's objectives and enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Manage HR Strategy & Program Planning by developing the overall HR strategy, vision, mission, and values in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Lead a team focused on continuous improvement, streamlining processes, and advancing technologies in HR.
  • Drive HR strategies that build capability and achieve strategic objectives.
  • Manage HR Operational Processes & Program Functional Leadership for HR Reporting, HR Services, HR Communications, HR Technology, and Employee Experience.
  • Sponsor and support the implementation of enterprise and HR strategic improvement initiatives, tracking and reporting on metrics for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships within HR and other functional areas to create a positive HR reputation.
  • Oversee the development and execution of the HR technology strategy and roadmap, ensuring data governance and compliance controls are met.
  • Manage the financial planning process for the HR team, creating and managing budgets.
  • Develop the HR team and provide continuous learning opportunities.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources management, or a related field.
  • Typically, 12 or more years of experience in human resources or a related field.
  • Expert knowledge of human resource management laws, principles, systems, policies, methods, and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise-level technology solutions, including ERP and Cloud systems.
  • Expert analytical thinking, conflict management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Intermediate knowledge of relevant utility industry regulations, including Oregon Public Utility Commission (OPUC) requirements.
  • Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office and automated HR-related systems.
