About the position

The 10x Genomics People Team is seeking a Senior Manager for HR Systems to join our People Solutions organization. This pivotal role will oversee our HR technology stack, processes, and projects, ensuring that our systems effectively support our people function. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and strategic thinker, capable of adapting to changing directions and methods while thriving in a fast-paced environment. This position requires excellent communication skills to engage with all levels of the organization and a proactive approach to problem-solving. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of HR systems who can empower our People function and drive improvements in the employee experience. In this role, you will evaluate the current HR tech stack to identify areas for enhancement from a people experience standpoint. You will work closely with IT partners to configure and troubleshoot our HRIS, specifically Workday, and address any pain points within the HR tech ecosystem. Your responsibilities will include developing Business Requirement Documentation in collaboration with various Centers of Excellence (COEs) such as Compensation, Benefits, Learning & Development, and Talent Acquisition. You will project manage system enhancements, ensuring they meet user needs through user acceptance testing, training, and reporting. Additionally, you will create process documentation to support COE programs, conduct data validation, and perform post-mortems to enhance future planning cycles. Analyzing and interpreting business process issues will be crucial, as you will make recommendations to management and the wider People team regarding system updates and process improvements. You will also collaborate with external vendors to ensure data integrity and proactive support, manage key HR processes, and serve as the data custodian for all information within our systems. Your analytical skills will be essential as you pull and analyze data as requested by the Chief People Officer and other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate current HR tech stack to drive improvements from a people experience standpoint
  • Partner closely with IT to configure, process improve, and troubleshoot our HRIS, Workday
  • Evaluate current pain points within the HR tech ecosystem and make process recommendations to internal partners
  • Develop Business Requirement Documentation in partnership with the People Team COEs: Compensation, Benefits, Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and other special projects as needed
  • Project manage all system enhancements to ensure they are fit for purpose, including user acceptance testing, training, and reporting
  • Create process documentation in support of COE programs, including conducting data validation and post-mortems
  • Analyze and interpret business process issues and make recommendations to management and the wider People team
  • Collaborate with external vendors ensuring data integrity and proactive support
  • Upload data as part of key HR processes such as compensation planning, promotion, and open enrollment
  • Be the data custodian for all data in our systems
  • Pull and analyze data as requested by the CPO and other team members

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and/or related degree
  • 8+ years relevant experience with HR systems and/or similar technologies
  • Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience with Workday Core HCM, Compensation, Benefits, and/or other modules
  • Experience managing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment
  • System thinking orientation, comfortable viewing problems holistically
  • Ability to effectively communicate, collaborate, and deliver excellent work in a dynamic company
  • Proven experience handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion
