About the position

The Senior Manager of Implementation at Lumen is responsible for directing, planning, and managing all aspects of capacity resolution and customer solution engineering for customer order activities across multiple Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 markets in North America. This role focuses on delivering quality service to customers while ensuring efficient project management and adherence to budgets. The position requires strong leadership skills to build and maintain a high-performance team, drive transformational change, and foster a culture of learning and development.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and lead a team managing the design, development, and implementation of advanced transport engineering projects.
  • Build a high-performance team by hiring, retaining talent, setting goals, and empowering direct reports.
  • Ensure the team addresses network capacity constraints for customer orders.
  • Manage budgets, project schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
  • Establish and maintain administrative and technical procedures for efficient project completion.
  • Exercise financial controls within company systems, including project approvals and contractor oversight.
  • Develop and improve Lumen policies in design, planning, and development of new technologies.
  • Communicate effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive transformational change and improve processes.
  • Motivate and cultivate employee development through empowerment and engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent training and experience.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in telecommunications with a focus on customer design and implementation.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience with a successful history of team development and cultural shifts.
  • Understanding of Metro Transport network technologies including SONET, DWDM, ROADM, and Ethernet.
  • Ability to analyze technical information and prepare reports.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of GIS and network planning tools.
