About the position

The Senior Manager, Incentive Compensation Risk Analyst at CIBC is responsible for supporting the Head of Portfolio Oversight in the US Operational Risk Management department. This role involves analyzing risk data, collaborating with stakeholders, and preparing reports to ensure effective risk management practices are integrated into incentive compensation processes across various banking operations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze risk data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for compensation adjustments.
  • Support the annual risk review by gathering and analyzing necessary artifacts.
  • Work closely with Human Resources to gather and analyze relevant data, communicating findings to leadership.
  • Prepare detailed reports on risk analysis activities and assist in developing procedures.
  • Support the execution of risk input into incentive compensation responsibilities, including data gathering and analysis.
  • Assess incentive compensation practices against industry and regulatory guidance.
  • Support the development and maintenance of applicable policies and procedures for risk management.
  • Monitor the regulatory environment to ensure compliance and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3 - 5 years of industry-related experience with a strong understanding of the US Banking Industry.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret data.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and their application to incentive compensation.
  • Excellent leadership and business planning skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to establish key relationships within lines of business and other partners.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements.
  • Problem-solving skills to creatively develop unique approaches to complex issues.
