About the position

The Senior Manager of Indirect Purchasing at Rocket Lab will oversee the global operations spend related to indirect materials. This role involves managing sourcing, purchasing, and contract management across multiple sites and countries, ensuring that the company's indirect procurement needs are met efficiently and effectively. The position requires strategic development and execution of procurement strategies while collaborating with key stakeholders to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Manage the procure to pay process for all indirect material procurement including IT, Business Services, Contracted Labor, and MRO.
• Lead a team across multiple sites, defining global strategies and leveraging local execution.
• Partner with stakeholders to understand their indirect procurement needs and develop executable strategies.
• Develop procurement strategies to mitigate key risks at Rocket Lab.
• Monitor market trends and competitor strategies to provide solutions to business obstacles.
• Negotiate pricing with suppliers to reduce total costs and improve operational excellence.
• Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews with critical suppliers to manage performance and align business needs.
• Work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain, or other relevant fields.
• 10+ years of related experience in purchasing, with management experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to define team strategy and build operating plans to achieve long-term goals.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
• Team-oriented with strong multi-tasking abilities.

• Experience in managing remote resources across multiple sites.
• MBA preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Prior experience in a rapid growth environment.
• Experience in negotiating large indirect contracts for facilities, logistics, construction, IT, capital equipment, or business services.
