About the position
The position is responsible for the financial performance of the Industrial Optics Product Line, formalizing P&L-based metrics including revenue, gross margin, new product revenue, and R&D spending control. The role involves leading R&D direction and collaborating with the R&D team on all new projects, new technology, platform, and product development, as well as design wins. Additionally, the position requires cooperation with operation and engineering teams to control and improve product cost structures to meet market benchmarks and customer expectations. The individual will also be responsible for the growth of the Industrial Optics Product Line and developing capacity plans to meet the company's expectations. Tracking market trends and formulating product roadmaps to achieve a successful and sustainable business plan is also a key responsibility. The role includes participation in establishing Product Line strategy, coordinating resource priorities, and working with cross-functional teams to satisfy customers and develop new opportunities through close cooperation with global Sales, Engineering, R&D, and Operations teams. Maintaining the highest degree of integrity, concern for quality, and commitment to meeting and exceeding customer expectations is essential, along with compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the financial performance of the Industrial Optics Product Line and formalizes P&L-based metrics including revenue, gross margin, new product revenue, R&D spending control
- Lead R&D direction and cooperate with the R&D team on all new projects, new technology, platform, and product development, design wins
- Cooperate with operation and engineering teams to control and improve product costs structure to meet market benchmarks and customer expectations
- Grow the Industrial Optics Product Line and develop capacity plans to meet the company's expectations
- Track market trends and formulate product roadmaps to achieve a successful and sustainable business plan
- Participate in the establishment of Product Line strategy, coordinate resource priorities, and work with cross-teams to satisfy customers
- Develop new opportunities through close cooperation with global Sales, Engineering, R&D, and Operations teams
- Maintain the highest degree of integrity, concern for quality, and commitment to meeting and exceeding customer commitments
- Meet all health, safety, and environmental requirements and regulations
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in progressively more responsible management positions
- 5+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, R&D/project management, or business development of optics, optical components, or related industrial field
- M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Physics, Optics, Mechanics, Electronics related engineering field
