About the position

Stout is seeking a Manager or Senior Manager to join its Intellectual Property practice within the Disputes, Claims, and Investigations group. This role focuses primarily on intellectual property matters, including damages related to patent, copyright, and trademark infringement, as well as trade secret misappropriation across various industries. The selected candidate will draft expert reports, prepare analyses, manage teams, and serve as a key point of contact for client communications, all while upholding the firm's commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review written reports, presentations, and graphical exhibits.
  • Oversee and participate in the day-to-day execution of engagements, coordinating and executing the engagement workplan.
  • Oversee and participate in the creation of engagement analyses, including financial analysis and modeling.
  • Conduct company, industry, and case-specific research functions to support analyses, assumptions, and conclusions.
  • Work with engagement leaders to strategize engagement approach and develop workplans.
  • Manage document organization processes, including the review and analysis of case documentation and court filings.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of other team members.
  • Assist with the management of client relationships with and without supervision.
  • Participate in marketing and thought leadership efforts.
  • Assist with the career development of other team members.

Requirements

  • 4-year undergraduate degree with a concentration in economics, finance, and/or accounting.
  • 4 to 10 years of relevant professional experience in damages quantification, preferably related to intellectual property disputes.
  • Significant experience in drafting expert reports.
  • Significant experience managing project teams.
  • Strong analytical and technical finance, economics, and accounting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to critically analyze financial statements, accounting records, tax returns, and other financial documents.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work with changing client-imposed deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Experience working in a client service/professional services environment.
